Tesla to "stretch" Model Y for China. Sales of the American brand are falling all over the world, including China. Tesla is going to spur demand for its bestseller by releasing a special version with an extended wheelbase and a six-seater interior. It will receive the YL index and will debut in the fall of 2025, Car News China writes, citing Tesla's Chinese office.

Tesla has so far published only a couple of teasers of the "stretched" Model Y without details, but they became known thanks to the database of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China.

Thus, the length will be 4976 millimeters, the width - 1920 millimeters, the height - 1668 millimeters, and the wheelbase - 3040 millimeters, which is 150 more than a regular electric car. The six-seater version will also gain weight: the unladen weight will increase by 96 kilograms and exceed two tons, reaching 2088 kilograms.

The maximum speed is also indicated - 201 kilometers per hour, but the battery capacity is traditionally not. It is only noted that the car will receive a three-component NMC battery (nickel-manganese-cobalt) from LG.
